Biology Day Collier Row

110 110 people viewed this event.

Held in 2019 in Collier Row, Essex, UK – involved fun biology-related activities for all the family, and engaged the local youth into what biology really means

Featured various stalls (took place in a local community centre) including; cake sale raising money for WWF, microscopes and cell models, Yeast and Vitamin experiments, answering ‘What Does Biology Mean to You?’, Science Scribbles stickers

Raised over £100, and had the pleasure of inviting the Mayor of Havering to attend

Aim: Organised due to a total lack of science events in the Essex area, but to also allow children to experience biology in a hands on way (using microscopes and performing experiments)

Thank you to all who attended the event, but especially to; the Mayor of Havering for attending and allowing me to explain the purpose behind each stall, Mrs Khouri, my amazing science teacher who provided me with all the equipment and created the experiments, to Lauren Callendar for selling her Science Scribbles stickers, postcards and bookmarks and also to Jacqui Piner of the Royal Society of Biology for supporting the event
